Spent my Sunday morning digesting Nikhil Kamath first WTF Online pod with Perplexity's Aravind Srinivas, and wow - the insights were gold! If you don't have 2.5 hours to spare, I've got you covered.
Even Aravind is trying to wrap his head around the definition of intelligence in the AI age and says that the current systems already encompass the skills of "some 10,000 knowledge worker professions in one system without hard coding". So that's a reality check for every one of us.
Beyond this, he gives a different take on why India should still develop its own models, tries to defend PPLX's moat, says the end of question-answer AI interface is around the corner, and that India's Big IT (TCS, Infy, etc.) might be in for a rough ride.
Also, really loved how Aravind gives some direction to the Indian AI ecosystem, including policymakers. With almost all global AI action and, consequently, mainstream discourse concentrated in Silicon Valley, conversations about the future of AI from an India PoV are rare. Hope to see more of Nikhil's conversations with global Indian founders exploring this intersection.
