Know Your Zeros: Rupees in Millions Explained

"Rupees million and rupees billion? What do they even mean? It's breaking my head"

I want to end this confusion once and for all, so I made this little thing to help you 'Know Your Zeros': lnkd.in/g8_9pbAa (best viewed on desktop)

Share this with anyone who's ever said, "Why can't they just write it in crores?"

If you ever felt that way reading business news or an industry report or a company's financial statements, here's my secret: forget about the currency and just count the zeros.

That's how I've always made sense of these numbers, and I've turned this simple approach into a website.

Here's what I've noticed - people often assume that if numbers are written in millions and billions, they must be in dollars. That's not true at all! It's just a naming convention that helps reach a global audience. Whether it's rupees or dollars, the zeros tell the story.

I've always known how many people struggle with these conversions, so this was long pending. But I went beyond just explaining zeros - I built a comprehensive guide that:

> Maps Indian number names (lakhs, crores) to global ones (millions, billions) > A nice visualization of how these numbers relate > Shows currency AND naming conversions for certain high-value base numbers in both systems (because why not?) > A custom number cum currency cum language converter for quick answers

It's a website that could have been an excel sheet, but where's the fun in that?

Made a quick demo video walking through the site. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
